GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — They’ve been coming here for decades, keeping families entertained. It’s Circus Hollywood.

From daredevil motorcycle stunts to high-wire tightrope walkers. It’s a performance you have to see to believe.

“It’s the Great New York State Fair, this is a great place to be,” said Crystal Coronas, performer of Circus Hollywood.

So great, the Coronas family, who is originally from Florida, has been putting on shows at the fair for over 40 years.

“We truly just love being here. Everything about it is wonderful. A lot of great families come to see the show. Like last night, we had fans coming here the last few years,” said Coronas.

Taking the show on the road. The Coronas family and its performers travel to different state fairs across the country. They are on the road for six months out of the year. The Coronas say it’s what they do, it’s in their blood.

“We’re six and seven generations of our family in the circus industry,” said Coronas.

Even expanding outside the Coronas family circle.

“I’ve been with Circus Hollywood for 10 years now and I just love it here. Everyone is just a big family,” said Rulito Videla, comedian for Circus Hollywood.

Videla, a comedian for Circus Hollywood is not blood-related to the Coronas but credits his bloodline for his talent.

“We come from a line of clowns from Argentina. So my dad was a comedian, my grandpa was a clown, and my great-grandfather was a clown and so on. It’s in the blood,” said Videla.

A trip to the circus can’t be complete without riding a camel.

“You can go see the circus, you can go visit the petting zoo, you can ride a camel. There’s a reptile exhibit. There’s just a lot of fun things. There’s the pony rides, everyone loves the pony rides” said Coronas.

The performers say it’s the audience that keeps them coming back each year.

“Without the diversity or the problems happening out in the real world outside when people come to the circus and they are inside the tent they’re in this atmosphere and they are watching the show and they forget about all of that and when I am performing and looking at all the audience no matter the size, the color, the race, we’re all having a good time, all laughing together and its joy and I think that’s just a beautiful feeling to give,” said Videla.

Circus Hollywood has three daily shows. Admission is free.
