State Fair suggests Saturday crowds use park-n-ride shuttles as parking lots near capacity

NEW YORK STATE FAIRGROUNDS (WSYR-TV) — The first Saturday of the 2024 New York State Fair means the fairgrounds parking lots are filling up fast, so State Fair leaders are suggesting people utilize shuttles.

State Fair organizers report the Brown, Pink, and Gray Lots are full as of Saturday afternoon and the Orange and Willis Avenue Lots are nearing capacity. Simply put, the Fair could run out of on-site parking.

Leaders suggest using Centro’s Park-N-Ride options departing from Downtown Syracuse, Long Branch Park, and Destiny USA. Free round-trip transportation is also offered from Fulton and Oswego.

Centro service to the fairground runs daily between 8:45 a.m. and 8:45 p.m. Return service runs until 11:15 p.m. Each way, the ride costs $1 for adults, $0.50 for senior citizens, children six to nine years old, and people with disabilities. Children under six years old are free.
