Second horse in Cayuga County dies of Eastern Equine encephalitis

CAYUGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Thursday, August 29, the Cayuga County Health Department announced a second horse this summer in the county died of Eastern Equine encephalitis.

This horse died in Red Creek.

Earlier this month, another horse in Cayuga County died of EEE in Cato.

A horse in Sullivan in Madison County also died of EEE earlier in the month.

Oswego County also had a horse death from West Nile Virus at the beginning of the month in Richland.
