A person in DeWitt taken to the hospital after driving off the road

DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On Thursday, August 29, around 11:30 p.m. a truck was driving south on Butternut Drive in the Town of DeWitt when the driver had a medical emergency and lost consciousness while driving.

Police say the truck came to a stop in a wooded area after driving off the east shoulder of the road.

The driver regained consciousness and was able to get out of the car and call for help.

He sustained minimal injuries from the crash but was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for evaluation of his medical emergency.

No one else was in the car when the truck went off-road and no tickets were issued.
