What festivals are happening in CNY now that the Fair is over

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The 2024 New York State Fair is officially over, marking a new school year and the unofficial end of summer.

While summer may be on the way out and lots of festivals have come and gone, there are still fun events coming up in Central New York.

Syracuse Irish Fest: September 6-7

Where: Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse

The Syracuse Irish Fest includes music, food, drinks, face painting and even a unicyclist. This celebration of Irish ancestry has an extensive entertainment lineup for Celtic music.

Golden Harvest Festival: Sept. 7-8

Where: Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville

This old-style country fair is the perfect event for the family. You can enjoy fresh donuts, a pie-eating contest, live animals and more.

Annual Craft Festival

Where: 435 Main Street in Oneida

This festival will include live craft demonstrations, different artisans, live music, food trucks and New York State wineries.

Festa Italiana: Sept. 13-15

Where: In front of Syracuse City Hall on East Washington St.

Great food will be in abundance at the Festa Italiana with local favorites like, It’s a Utica Thing, Big Mama’s Cheesecake Company and Villa Pizze Fritte catering the festival.

You can also enjoy live entertainment throughout the festival.

Westcott Street Cultural Fair: Sept. 22

Where: Westcott Street from Concord to Dell Street in Syracuse

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair has been a neighborhood pride celebration in Syracuse since 1991.

It will feature food, live music, community organizations and more.

Inner Harbor Fest: Sept. 27-28

Where: Syracuse Inner Harbor

You can enjoy fireworks, dragon boat racing, live music and carnival rides at the Syracuse Inner Harbor Fest.

Runners can also participate in a 5k on Sunday.

LaFayette Apple Festival: Oct. 12-13

Where: 2444 Tully Farms Road in LaFayette

Attendees can enjoy all things apples at this festival.

Festivities will start with an apple pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday morning. You can also take part in an apple pie eating contest and enjoy fair food and carnival rides.
