St. Lawrence Co. woman charged for unlicensed cannabis sales

GOUVERNEUR, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 24-year-old Gouverneur woman is facing charges after allegedly illegal cannabis sales from a smoke shop in Gouverneur.

New York State Police charged Rhionna Durham after a long-term, multiple-agency investigation of illegal cannabis and controlled substance sales from unlicensed cannabis stores. Durham allegedly made these sales at Smokers Corner, which is located at 985 State Route 11 in Gouverneur.

She was charged with three counts of counts of Unlicensed Cannabis Sale, two counts of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance – Intent to Sell. These two counts are felonies.

Durham was arraigned in the Town of Gouverneur Court and released on her own recognizance.

State Police was assisted the Gouverneur Police Department, Ogdensburg Police Department, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Border Patrol, and Canton Police Department.
