    Jefferson Co. man facing multiple charges after allegedly raping 12-year-old girl

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 22-year-old Watertown is facing multiple charges after allegedly having sexual contact with a minor.

    New York State Police have charged Tyler Griffin after a Jefferson County grand jury indicted him on the following felony charges on Wednesday.

    St. Lawrence Co. woman charged for unlicensed cannabis sales

    Griffin was charged on the following counts:

    Four Counts of Rape 1st Degree (class “B” Felony)

    • Two Counts of Predatory Sexual of a Child (class “A” Felony)
    • Two Counts of Rape 2nd Degree (class “D” Felony)
    • Three Counts of Criminal Sexual Act 2nd Degree (class “D” Felony)
    • Two Counts of Sexual Abuse 2nd Degree (class “A” Misdemeanor)

    On October 6, 2022, a parent of a 12-year-old female reported to State Police text messages indicating a relationship between their daughter and 20-year-old Griffin. Further investigation revealed a sexual relationship between the two in the town of Ellisburg.

    Griffin was arraigned and remanded to the Jefferson County Public Safety Building without bail.
