    NYSP Troop D hosting car seat checks across the region

    WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – New York State Police Troop D will be hosting a number of car seat check events as part of National Child Passenger Safety week.

    The initiative will run from September 15 through September 21 and was designated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to focus attention on the preventable injuries and fatalities resulting from unrestrained and improperly restrained child passengers of motor vehicle traffic collisions every year.

    Target gears up for car seat trade-in event

    Troopers who are trained child passenger safety technicians will be available to assist with car seat installation or any questions you may have.

    The Watertown Target location at 21800 Town Center Drive will host a car seat check from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday, September 15.

    Other events will be at the state police barracks at Sylvan Beach located 601 Main Street, Sylvan Beach, on Tuesday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

    Another one will be at NAVAC Ambulance Station located 603 N. Main Street, North Syracuse, on September 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
