    Lane closures planned I-481 in Town of DeWitt and I-81 in the City of Syracuse

    DEWITT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Department of Transportation wants to alert drivers that Interstate 481 north and south will be reduced to one lane in the Town of DeWitt starting Monday, September 9.

    The lane reductions will take place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and last until Friday, September 13.

    Traffic on I-481 North will be reduced to one lane between Exit 3E (5 East 92 East Fayetteville) and north of the Kinne Road bridge

    On I-481 South lanes will be reduced to one lane from Exit 4 (690 West Syracuse Fairgrounds) and south of the Kinne Road bridge.

    The NYS DOT wants to alert drivers of another traffic alert starting Monday, this one in the City of Syracuse.

    I-81 North will be reduced to one lane between the I-81 northbound merge with I-690 eastbound/westbound and north of the Butternut Street bridge.

    The lane reduction will be happening daily, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. lasting until Friday, September 13.

    I-81 South will also be reduced to one lane. This lane reduction will happen between Exit 21 (Catawba Street Spencer Street) and south of the Butternut Street bridge, daily, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    The NYS DOT said that all planned lane closures are to perform bridge inspections. Road work is weather-dependent and may change based on conditions.
