SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The 15-year-old killed last month was shot by three 16-year-olds in the same car, prosecutors allege in court paperwork shared with NewsChannel 9.

Prosecutors allege the three teens fired multiple rounds intended for people outside of the Parkside Commons apartment complex near the intersection of Teall Avenue and Erie Boulevard on August 12 .

Instead, the gunfire hit 15-year-old Daren McGee, Jr. in the back seat of the stolen vehicle, prosecutors say.

Prosecutors say the four were in a stolen Hyundai Sonata with North Carolina plates on Westmoreland Avenue.

Relatives said he was dropped off at his grandmother’s home before he was driven to Upstate University Hospital. He died about 10 days later, police said.

Online court records name the suspects as Qinntone Moore, Torrin Brown and Uzziah Murray, each 16 years old.

Each was formally charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon while in court Wednesday morning. Because of their age, they were arraigned in what’s called “Youth Part” of Onondaga County Criminal Court. From there, their cases could be transferred to Family Court or stay within the criminal court system.
