NYSP investigate fatal motorcycle crash in Jefferson County

LE RAY, N.Y. (WWTI) – New York State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash killed one person on Sunday night in the town of Le Ray.

According to State Police, they responded just before 6:40 p.m. Sunday to State Route 11 in the town of Le Ray for a motorcycle crash with injuries.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Triumph motorcycle operated by a 26-year-old Evans Mills man was traveling north on State Route 11 at a high rate of speed. This caused him to lose control of the motorcycle and exit the roadway at the intersection of Holbrook Drive, ejecting him from the motorcycle.

The victim suffered a traumatic head injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash closed Route 11 for a time.

The investigation is ongoing and State Police were assisted on the scene by Fort Drum EMS.
