Man in custody after standoff in North Syracuse

NORTH SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A man was taken into custody following a standoff on Lincoln Road in North Syracuse around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18.

North Syracuse police and the Onondaga County Sheriff’s first responded a few hours earlier around noon after a call of an argument happening between the man, identified by authorities as Giovanni Serrano, and a woman at a home in the neighborhood.

Police established a perimeter and helped the woman to safety, but a standoff then ensued with Serrano.

The investigation is still ongoing. There is no word on what charges Serrano may face.
