LOUISVILLE, N.Y. (WWTI) – A New York State Trooper is unharmed after a two-vehicle crash early Thursday afternoon in the town of Louisville in St. Lawrence County.

Just after noon on Thursday, a two-vehicle collision occurred involving a NY State Police car on State Highway 37 in the town of Louisville.

Jefferson County man charged with alleged hate crime

A preliminary investigation determined that Trooper James Bertram was traveling west in a marked patrol vehicle on State Highway 37 when a 2011 white Mazda sedan operated by 18-year-old Michael Martinez of Massena, failed to observe Trooper Bertram stopping to conduct a left-hand turn into the rest area off of State Highway 37, striking the patrol vehicle in the rear.

Martinez was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for medical evaluations and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Bertram was not hurt from the collision.
