TOWN OF LEE, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A motor vehicle/pedestrian accident in the Town of Lee has left a three-year-old deceased, according to Oneida County Sheriffs.

Deputies responded to a residence on Stokes Lee Center Road on Thursday, September 19. Due to the nature of the incident, officers with the Oneida County Sheriffs’ Criminal Investigation Unit took over when they responded to the scene.

Further investigation found that the driver of the car — later identified as 27-year-old Jessica Furry of Lee Center — was operating her vehicle in the driveway. Police say that Furry had placed the vehicle in drive and pulled forward. When she did so, Furry allegedly struck her three-year-old son.

Furry said she began life-saving measures until paramedics arrived at the scene. The child was transported to Rome Health where he was pronounced dead.

According to sheriffs, the incident is still under investigation.

Oneida County Sheriffs were assisted on the scene by the New York State Police, the Lee Center Fire Department, and Amcare Ambulance of Rome.

The incident is still under investigation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
