SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — For the third edition of Friday Morning Lights, NewsChannel 9 headed down the road to Syracuse City School District’s, Henninger High School.

The morning began foggy and chilly, a recent trend. As the sun came up, so did the temperature and energy of the students.

While they arrived, literally, by the busload, the student’s high energy made the morning all the more enjoyable. They had “H” towels, pom poms, and school spirit ready for us at any given moment, and you can see them in almost all of our live hits!

Not to mention, this Friday was their senior sunrise. A special way to celebrate the graduating class!

Their mascot, the Black Knight, made an appearance for us. And if I recall, that is the first time (at least for this season) we’ve had a mascot feature!

The Henninger football team faces Nottingham this evening. When we asked Superintendent Anthony Davis about which one of his city schools he would be rooting for, he replied that he would like to see a great game between two great teams!

On top of the football team, cheerleaders, the Syracuse City School District marching band, color guard, administration, and more came out to show love for their school.
