Colgate gets first win of season over Cornell

HAMILTON, N.Y. (WSYR) — The Raiders hosting the Big Red today as Cornell opens its season and the Raiders look for their first win. They would blow past Cornell in the second half taking the 41-24.

It would be a back and forth game until Colgate finds momentum before halftime to take the lead with a touchdown from Michael Brescia. The Raiders’ senior quarterback finished the day with two rushing touchdowns while starting quarterback Jake Stearney went 17 of 27 for 184 passing yards and a touchdown.

On the ground the Raiders racked up a season-high 270 rushing yards and evens up the Upstate New York rivalry at 51-51-3.

Next up for Colgate, they take on Penn at 1 p.m. on the road while Cornell looks ahead to host Yale at 2.
