TURIN, N.Y. (WWTI) – A 44-year-old Turin man is facing public lewdness after an alleged incident earlier in the week.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies allege that Clarence Merry exposed an “intimate part of his body” September 23 on the Turin Road.

Merry was given a charge of public lewdness and was arraigned in the Town of New Bremen Court. He was released on his own recognizance and will answer the charge at a later date.

An order of protection was also given on behalf of the complainant.

New York State Police also assisted in the investigation.

There needs to be more context given. I see Clarence walking almost every day of the week. Did he expose himself to another person on purpose in a sexual manner? Or on one of the long walks he normally takes, did he just get caught going to the bathroom and someone with no life couldn't handle it? Context matters.
