Person on scooter hit by car in Parish taken to hospital in critical condition

PARISH, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — New York State Police were called to a person on a scooter who had been hit by a car in the Village of Parish around 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7.

State police say 35-year-old Matthew Lavaway from Parish was on a scooter on State Route 69 when he was hit by a BMW being driven by a 42-year-old woman from Parish.

Lavaway was taken to Upstate Hospital in critical condition, according to NYSP.

The investigation is ongoing.
