    Storms on Sunday delayed hundreds of planes at New York City's three main airports.

    The Federal Aviation Administration said that severe weather caused planes leaving Newark Airport to be late by more than two hours in the afternoon. By 2 p.m., FlightAware's tracking website reported 243 planes delayed and 134 cancellations at the airport.

    FlightAware, an airport watchdog, reports that over 120 flights experienced simultaneous delays at both LaGuardia and JFK.

    Rian Murphy, a spokesman for the National Weather Service, said that by late Sunday afternoon, it would be heavy rain in the New York City area.


    Flash Flooding
