Bus Passengers Traveling To NYC Found Themselves Stranded In Flood Water

Outside of court on Long Island on Monday afternoon, former Rep. George Santos admitted to wire fraud and identity theft. This finished an investigation that had been going on for almost two years and had been turning up more and more shocking evidence.

Heavy rain on Monday afternoon caused flooding on Central Avenue between Frost Place and Vatrano Road. The flood water level rose to almost three feet or above.

The police had shut off that part of the road, but the bus driver still tried to drive through it.

At first, it looked like the bus would make it, but it finally stopped and got stuck in the water, trapping the driver and everyone on board for almost two hours.

The Four-Minute Bus Trip To New York City

Weldon told Briana Supardi of CBS 6 that the four-minute trip to New York City was cut short when the bus driver stopped in a flood.

I'm mad right now. A bus passenger named Xavier Alicea said, "It's like I felt he should have never done that because he knew he wasn't going to make it through."

Many people on the plane, like Weldon and Alicea, had to be in New York City for trips.

    Passengers Paid The Price

A lousy choice threw their plans off track. The water and mud were now all over their bags.

He didn't even help us. To get our things out, we had to break the door open. Alicea said of the bus driver. He wasn't helping us; he was talking on the phone. Everything we own is now broken. "Everything is floods," Weldon said.

The people were stuck with wet bags and had to find new ways to reach their destination.

Some, like Weldon, were still hoping to arrive in New York City in time for their trip.
