According to the police, the event took place inside Hamilton Heights' PS 153 Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Elementary School at 1:30 p.m.

Police charged 46-year-old Anthony Wicks with assault and engaging in behavior that would endanger a child under the age of 17.

According to the officials, the child was brought to the Irving Medical Center at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University and is expected to stay there.

The NY-Times Report On Child Abuse

According to a New York Times investigation, family members killed Black children at a rate almost seven times higher than that of White, Asian, and Hispanic children, and three times higher than that of Hispanic children in New York City between 2016 and 2022.

To cut down on the amount of additional investigations, instructors should, in the opinion of ACS, be free to follow their instincts and decide not to report the African American student.

Teachers are often the only ones who routinely observe a youngster in danger at home. Stopping people from reporting crimes to the authorities is not only absurd, but it might even be lethal.
