A Former City Hall Employee Is Accused of Tampering With Witnesses And Destroying Evidence

In connection with a federal investigation into illicit contributions to a specific 2021 mayoral campaign, MOHAMED BAHI, a former New York City Hall employee, is accused of witness tampering and evidence destruction.

The allegations were made public today by United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's New York Field Office James E. Dennehy, and Commissioner of the New York City Department of Investigation Jocelyn E. Strauber. After being taken into custody today, BAHI will appear in federal court in Manhattan before United States Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger.
