Washington Post Covers Canyon County Chaos?
June has been a rather turbulent Pride Month for the Treasure Valley. The Rainbow Flags have continued to be vandalized on Harrison Boulevard in Boise. Looking back: This week in eastern Idaho history
100 years agoWith the November 1924 election only a few months away, prospects were looking rosy for Republicans in Idaho. Voters were rallying to President Calvin Coolidge “because they feel that at last there is someone who is not an orator but a doer,” said W. Lloyd Adams of Rexburg. “This feeling has been contributed to by the tactics of the Democrats in their reconvention campaign. … In eastern Idaho, there is much enthusiasm for the state administration and I doubt if the Progressives will be able to carry even Teton County, where the Samuels’ coal mine is.” The state nominating convention was set to be held in Idaho Falls, and word was that promoters had leased the Colonial Theatre for a special event. “Eastern counties are planning to send double and triple delegations, some sending as high as five delegates to every vote, to create enthusiasm,” Adams said.

Last Saturday our group of six was riding bikes on country roads north of St. Anthony on our way to Harriman State Park via the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway. Our goal was to do a total of about 100 miles there and back.
