    Documents: Abilene man arrested in SWAT incident accused of robbing Long John Silvers

    ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – An Abilene man arrested in a SWAT incident Tuesday night is accused of robbing a Long John Silvers.

    Samuel Fernandez was taken into custody at a south Abilene home after a SWAT team deployed multiple rounds of gas .

    Court documents state Fernandez was a former employee at the Long John Silvers on Westwood Drive.

    Fernadez’s former coworkers told police he was “not wanted there as he was suspected of stealing money and using narcotics on the job.”

    Sunday, one of these coworkers saw Fernandez ringing something up to get the register open and when he confronted Fernandez, he noticed Fernandez had a knife in his hand and felt fear.

    Fernandez was able to take nearly $200 in cash before fleeing the scene.

    He was apprehended during this SWAT incident a few days later.

    Fernandez now remains held in the Taylor County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
