    Things to do in Abilene this weekend, July 5-7

    The Abilene community has lots of events happening throughout the weekend.

    The weather for the weekend is a mixed bag with chances of rain on Friday, partly cloudy skies Saturday and a sunny Sunday with temperatures in the high 90s throughout the three days.

    Friday, July 5

    Super Storytime: All About Raccoons: 11 a.m. Abilene Public Library-Main Branch, 202 Cedar St.

    Tarot with Doc Chay: 1 p.m. Rose Quartz Abilene, 2500 North First St.

    LEGO Afternoons: 3-5 p.m. Abilene Public Library-Mockingbird Branch, 1326 North Mockingbird Lane. Event for school-aged youth.

    Mystery Art Series for Tweens & Teens: 3:30 p.m. Abilene Public Library-Main Branch, 202 Cedar St. For children between ages 8 to 17.

    "Legally Blonde The Musical" at the Paramount Theatre, 352 Cypress St., on Friday and Saturday. Both shows start at 7:30 p.m., and tickets can be bought online.

    First Friday: 6 p.m. at 1290 South Willis St. Art shows, vendors, food trucks and live music. For adults age 18 and up.

    Live Music: McKenna Kasowski: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Lytle Land & Cattle, 1150 E. South 11th St.

    Live Music: Wade Bowen: 7-11 p.m. Potosi Live, 897 FM 1750. General admission is $25.

    Live Music: Jace Martin Band: 7-10 p.m. Heff's Burgers and Bar, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road.

    Live Music: Allen Ray: 7-9 p.m. Sharon's BBQ, 2050 Antilley Road.

    Song Swap with Terri Knight: 8 p.m. Mezamiz Coffee House, 3909 South Seventh St., Suite C.

    Live Music: DJ Gecko and Los Gran Reyes: 8 p.m. Tequilas Night Club, 133 Eplens Court. $20 entry.

    Saturday, July 6

    Monthly Hike at Lake Abilene with Big Country Master Naturalist: 9 a.m.-noon. Check in at the park office and get a parking pass. The hike will cover about five miles.

    Read to a Dog Day: 2:30 p.m. Abilene Public Library-South Branch, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road.

    Family Fun Saturday: 10 a.m.-1 p.m. National Center for Children's Illustrated Literature, 102 Cedar St.

    Double Flix: "Spider-Man" at 10 a.m. and "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" at 2:30 p.m.: Abilene Public Library-Main Branch, 202 Cedar St., auditorium.

    Rise Youth Car Wash: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Rise Church, 3142 S. 27th St.

    Guardians Of The Children Brunch Ride: Meet at Sam's Club parking lot, 5550 South Clack St., and ride to Betty Rose's Little Brisket, 2588 East Lake Road. Meet-up time 10:15 a.m. Leave time 10:45 a.m.

    Live Music: Gabe Choate and Terri Knight: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Crane's Craft BBQ at the Wagon Wheel, 1023 South Access Road in Tye.

    Key City Skate Jam: 4 p.m. The People's Plaza, 1290 South Willis St.

    Meet The Robinsons Movie Night: 6 p.m. Aldersgate Abilene, 1741 Sayles Blvd. Popcorn provided. Other snacks to share are encouraged.

    Grain Theory Brewery Production Party: 6-10 p.m. Grain Theory Brewery, 1466 Pine St., Suite 200.

    Doc's 4th of July Celebration: 5 p.m. to midnight. Doc's Bar and Grill, 2042 FM 1750.

    Star Party at Abilene State Park with Big Country Master Naturalist: 9-11 p.m. The group will meet in the open area/soccer field across from the swimming pool.

    Live Music: Caleb Sutton: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Lytle Land & Cattle, 1150 E. South 11th St.

    Live Music: Adam Flores Band: 7-10 p.m. Heff's Burgers and Bar, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road.

    Sunday, July 7

    Pokemon Meetup: 1:30-5:30 p.m. Abilene Public Library - South Branch, 4310 Buffalo Gap Road.
