Happy Trails Rustic Western Furniture in Clyde is closing up shop after 25 years.

The closing date depends on how fast the store can get the furniture out of its doors about 140 miles south of Wichita Falls and near Abilene.

"We will be open until all the furniture is gone," employee Jason Kent stated.

In a June 25 Facebook post, the business announced the retirement of owner Phil Mintz and the store closure.

"For 25 years, Happy Trails Furniture has proudly served Clyde, Abilene and the surrounding area. After careful thought and consideration, Phil Mintz, owner of Happy Trails, has decided to retire and close," the statement said.

The store must liquidate over $2 million worth of furniture and mattresses, and to accomplish this, the store is selling products at extreme discounts, according to the post.

Customers can shop furniture for the whole house, indoor and outdoor, from a wide selection of styles including rustic, contemporary, farmhouse and traditional.

"Not only do we have 32,000 square feet of showroom, we have 27,000 square feet of warehouse space full of furniture as well as furniture ordered prior to the sale," Kent said. "We have a big job to do."

Happy Trails Furniture, 302 North Access Road in Clyde, is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 12-5 p.m. Sunday.

Check out their website happytrailsfurniture.com or call 325-893-3739.
