Suspect arrested after chase through north Abilene neighborhood

ABILENE, Texas ( KTAB/KRBC ) – A suspect arrested after a chase through a north Abilene neighborhood Thursday night has been identified.

Christopher Owens has been booked into the Taylor County Jail on warrants for Evading Arrest x2 and Resisting Arrest in connection to the incident, which took place near N 15th Street and Lillius Street around 10:15 p.m.

Police say officers pulled Owens over for a traffic stop, but instead of stopping, he fled the scene.

A police dog assisted in helping officers search the man’s car and later locating him.

No additional information is available at this time.

Owens now remains held in Jail on bonds totaling nearly $90,000 for his new charges as well as unrelated warrants.
