    Southwest Virginia, Kingsport ciders nominated for USA Today’s Best Cider

    ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) — Ciders crafted in Southwest Virginia and Kingsport have been nominated for a spot on USA Today’s Best 10 – Readers Choice 2024 Cider list.

    Tumbling Creek Cider’s Hellbender Hopped is crafted in Southwest Virginia at Kelly Ridge Farms in Meadowview. The cider is pressed from Appalachian apples and citrusy hops from Kelly Ridge Farms, resulting in a semi-sweet cider with floral notes.

    Hellbender Hopped can be found at Tumbling Creek Cider’s Meadowview and Abingdon locations and in local stores. For more information, click here .

    Gypsy Circus Cider Company’s Raindancer is also nominated. This semi-dry cider has a flavor similar to champagne and is made from locally sourced, fresh-pressed apples.

    Votes for your favorite cider can be cast once per day until Aug. 19 at noon. The 10 winning ciders will be announced on Aug. 28.
