Delta Dental of Arizona Sees Inflation Hit the Tooth Fairy in 2023 Poll
According to Delta Dental of Arizona, who recently released the 2023 Original Tooth Fairy Poll®, the average value of a single lost tooth during the past year increased 16% from $5.36 to $6.23. The new value not only has children beaming with gap-toothed smiles but also represents a record high in the 25-year history of the poll. Since the poll’s inception, the average cash gift left by the Tooth Fairy has surged 379% from $1.30 to $6.23 per tooth. At this rate, in 2048, the Tooth Fairy would be leaving a whopping $30 under the pillow for a single tooth.
Delta Dental of Arizona Expands Grant Guidelines, Awards $740,000 to Organizations Statewide
Delta Dental of Arizona, through its Foundation, has awarded grants to 33 non-profit organizations that are working to increase access to oral health services and provide nutritional programs for underserved populations across Arizona. These funds, totaling $743,536, were awarded to support projects and services promoting good oral health practices and increasing access to dental care among underserved children, pregnant women, seniors and – for the first time – adults.

Hattie Mitchell, CPA, CFE, CVGA, has been appointed to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council (GASAC). Mitchell, a Senior Manager and Tribal Consultant in REDW’s National Tribal Practice, and member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation (PBPN), is based in REDW’s Phoenix office and will serve a two-year term with the GASAC.
Great Arizona Puppet Theater Bringing Oral Health Programming Statewide Thanks to Delta Dental of Arizona
The Delta Dental of Arizona Foundation is partnering with the Great Arizona Puppet Theater to make oral health education more accessible and fun for children through the creation of a traveling puppet show that will perform at Title One schools and daycare centers statewide over the next two years. The program will educate nearly 13,000 children through approximately 160 shows each year across Northern, Central, and Southern Arizona.

Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council Shares 2023 Cookie Season Plans
Each year, Girl Scouts in Arizona participate in the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world: The Girl Scout Cookie Program. And this year it is not only bigger and better than ever, but longer as well. For the first time in the history of Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC), the local cookie season will take place for seven full weeks from Jan. 16 to Mar. 5, 2023.
Rock The Rooftop Raises $55,000 for Arizona Nonprofits
Rock The Rooftop, a first-year charity concert that took place under the stars on the W Hotel’s exclusive WET Deck in December and featured performances by Bailey Zimmerman, Nate Smith, and Loud Luxury, raised $55,000 for local organizations in its inaugural year benefitting Riot Gives Back which shared the proceeds with Make-A-Wish Arizona. Event committee members, including its co-founders John Creighton, Jason Adler, and Dillan Micus, joined together with the Scottsdale Mayor and Scottsdale City Councilmembers on Jan. 6 at the W Hotel to celebrate the organizations and present them with $27,500 donations.

The honor, presented to Delta Dental of Arizona director of community benefit Barb Kozuh during the Children’s Museum of Phoenix Night at the Museum Gala on Nov. 5, was awarded to the organization for its ongoing commitment to strengthening children’s learning through play; helping to make additional and better play possible for Arizona’s children; demonstrating a commitment to learning through play; making outstanding contributions of time and or/investment to enriching the lives of children; and making outstanding contributions to strengthen and advance the interests of children.

Scottsdale Business Helps 800 Children through 18th Annual Holiday Fundraiser

Fiesta Bowl unveils community resource room in Bisbee
Fiesta Bowl Charities, in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and the Bisbee Unified School District, unveiled and celebrated the renovated and newly named Fiesta Bowl Charities Community Resource Room at the Bisbee Science Lab. The outdoor pavilion will host STEAM programs, lectures, a Minke Whale exhibit and much more to foster exploration and educational programming for youth.
