Hard Bargain Players will continue to stage “The Christians” at 8 p.m. Fridays, June 7 and 14, and Saturdays, June 8 and 15, at the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s Hard Bargain Amphitheater, 2001 Bryan Point Road in Accokeek.

Twenty years ago, Pastor Paul’s church was nothing more than a modest storefront. Now, he presides over a congregation of thousands, with classrooms for Sunday School, a coffee shop, and a baptismal font as big as a swimming pool. Today should be a day of celebration. But Pastor Paul does not believe in Hell, and today, he’s going to preach a sermon that finally says what he really believes.

The play is directed by Matt Jones and produced by Kate Jones. Set managers are Matt Jones and Erik Braun and the stage manager is Stacey Swickert. Costumes are by Lisa Magee and Shemika Renee is hair and makeup.

The approximately 90-minute show stars Dav Timmerman as the Pastor, Heather Wetherald as his wife, Aaron Johnson as his associate, Taylor Hines in the role of Elder and Alyshia Bradley as a Congregant

    Doors open 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 and cash only, and reservations are encouraged and may be made by texting 301-643-6129.
