Arena Stage Adds THE BEDWETTER to 2024-25 Season
Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has added The Bedwetter to its 2024/25 Season. Handpicked as part of Artistic Director Hana S. Sharif's inaugural season, The Bedwetter, the new musical based on comedian Sarah Silverman’s heartfelt memoir, will make its D.C. premiere next year. Performances will run January 31 – March 16, 2025, in Arena Stage’s Kreeger Theater. Press Night will be held on Thursday, February 13.
NCPG Launches Tribal Advisory Council
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the only national non-profit organization that seeks to reduce the economic and social costs associated with gambling addiction, has unveiled its newly established Tribal Advisory Council. While NCPG has worked with tribal gaming entities for many years, the formation of the Tribal Advisory Council represents a deeper level of collaboration to address matters of responsible gambling and problem gambling that are of importance to Native American communities.

Capital Fringe Review: ‘The Haber Conundrum’ by Artists’ Collaborative Theatre of New England
David Kaye excels as a monologue virtuoso in this fifty-minute solo performance at the Fringe Festival. While the pace occasionally lags, it is not due to any fault of his. Port of Baltimore expansion project to add $1.5 billion to Maryland GDP
(WBFF) — An upcoming addition to the Port of Baltimore will generate 8000 new jobs and add $1.5 billion to Maryland's GDP, the groups behind the project said today. Tradepoint Atlantic and Terminal Investment Limited released the results of an economic impact study showing that the Sparrows Point Container Terminal is projected to hit those economic benchmarks by 2035.

BALTIMORE - Baltimore's temperatures have been scorching hot over the past three days, reaching triple digits.But, the heat took another jump on Tuesday, hitting 104 degrees, which tied a record set on this date in 1988.This has been the hottest three-day stretch in Baltimore in 75 years.Temperatures hit 101 degrees on Sunday, 102 on Monday and 104 on Wednesday, which all tied records for that particular date.The last time heat exceeded 101 degrees for three straight days was August 26-28, 1948. It has never happened for four straight days.According to the WJZ First Alert Weather Team, temperatures could climb back to 100 degrees on Wednesday.

The woman accused of stealing an SUV outside a D.C. hospital with an ill patient in the passenger seat was found incompetent to stand trial Tuesday. Kayla Kenisha Brown, 22, of Southeast, is accused of crashing the stolen car into a downtown D.C. building in early June. Here's how long $1 million in savings lasts retirees in DC
WASHINGTON - A new study found that $1 million won’t last retirees long in DC compared to other states. The study, published by personal finance site GoBankingRates, found that $1 million dollars in DC would last retirees the third shortest amount of time of any state at 11 years, 10 months and 25 days.
