Burroughs defense and blocking lead way to road win
LANCASTER – Burroughs volleyball continued its five-game road trip with a visit to Paraclete High on Wednesday. The Burros' defense and blocking had a strong performance against a quality opponent to sweep the Spirits 25-17, 25-21, and 25-17. “It was a good win for us because especially in the second set, we came back from a six-point deficit to pull out a win,” said head coach Stephanie Phillips. “I felt like this game prepared us in a sense of being able to come back when we are down and know we can still take the win. And it prepared us for our league because I felt the intensity of the game was more like what we will see in our league that is coming up.”
TPAA a contender in STEM competitions
There are many ways for students to measure success, and competing head-to-head with other schools with STEM programs is only one. But it can be very satisfying. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy, in Palmdale, Calif., has a thriving robotics program, and yearly sends a team of 15 students to compete in the regional Science Olympiad at Antelope Valley College.
