Compensation Boards were dissolved by the state legislature, effective July 1st, empowering the Supervisors to determine the establishment of the board. Compensation Boards annually recommend wages for elected officials. The Adair County Board of Supervisors opted to keep a compensation board, rather than the board taking on those duties.

Adair County Auditor Mandy Berg explained the resolution passed by the board…

In other action, the Supervisors discussed a county tax abatement for individuals in the rural areas that were affected by the May 21st tornado. Supervisor Jodie Hoadley proposed the abatement.

Supervisor John Twombly was against a tax abatement.

Hoadley argued that some of these individuals want to say living in the country.

The Supervisors voted three to two on Twombly’s motion.

The Supervisors also approved the reappointment of Lee Ashmore the to Veterans Affairs Commission.
