Fireworks scheduled for Fourth
Bring your lawn chairs and be prepared for a dramatic fireworks display on the 4th of July near the former fairgrounds on Fairgrounds St. in Columbia. The display will begin at dusk and can be seen from the campus of Lindsey Wilson College, the Adair County Extension Office and nearby businesses.

Police are searching for a missing teen in neighboring Adair County. Columbia Police say they are looking for 17-year-old Brooklyn Peterson. Russell Springs man arrested on child sex abuse charges
A Russell Springs man was arrested in neighboring Adair County on child sex abuse charges. According to reports, 50-year-old James R. Grantham was arrested by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office late Thursday night and charged with sexual abuse first degree involving a victim under the age of 12 and sodomy first degree involving a victim under the age of 12.
