Propane leak causes evacuation in Tuesday’s storm
WILLIAMSBURG, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — In Williamsburg, a tree came down on a 500 gallon propane tank and vehicle. The propane tank was reported to be nearly full and as a result of the leak and resulting high levels of gas in the areas, residents were evacuated to the Anne T. Dunphy School. One home on Williams Street refused to evacuate, no update yet on the residents’ wellbeing.

Update: Rip current statement affecting Barnstable County until Wednesday evening
An updated rip current statement was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 3:39 p.m. in effect until 8 p.m. for Barnstable County. "Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water," explains the weather service. "Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help."
