Trashcan Fire Spread to Residence at Rochester Mobile Home Park
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - What apparently started as a trash can fire resulted in significant damage to a residence at a southeast Rochester mobile home park on Saturday. The Rochester Fire Department says crews responded around 10:15 AM to reports of a fire at the Southgate Circle mobile home park, which is located off Highway 14 East near the Air Insanity indoor trampoline Park. When the firefighters arrived at the scene they found a trashcan and lean-to structure engulfed in flames.
Storm chances continue until Wednesday, but not a washout
There will be a chance of t-storms each day between now and Wednesday, but each day will not be a washout. Sunday will feature increasing clouds throughout the day as a cold front descends southward from central Minnesota. This cold front provided forcing, along with the gathering instability, is expected to be enough to kick off scattered showers and t-storms during the afternoon hours. These storms could very well last into the evening hours but will quickly fizzle out once the sun sets.

Flash flood warning in effect Sunday as isolated storms drench Twin Cities
MINNEAPOLIS — Sunday will bring a chance for isolated storms in the Twin Cities, and the next couple of days look to stay unsettled.Dakota, Hennepin and Ramsey counties are under a flash flood warning through 12:45 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Thunderstorms were producing heavy rain in those areas.The afternoon will bring more chances for storms. Nothing severe is expected, but there could be some heavier downpours. Activity should diminish once the sun sets.Sunday is also off to a humid, summer-like start. Temperatures across the state will top out in the lower 80s.More isolated storms are possible Monday and Tuesday as well.Expect average highs all week and increasing sunshine and temperatures as we head toward next weekend.
Transgender woman filing suit after state refused Medicaid coverage for reassignment surgery
AMES, Iowa — Sondra Wilson claims that the state denied her Medicaid coverage for her gender reassignment surgery. Wilson doesn’t have a law degree, but is representing herself in this case.
