Logan Schuchart wins Pa. Speedweek 410 sprint car feature race at Hagerstown Speedway
Logan Schuchart of Hanover won Thursday night’s Pa. Speedweek 410 sprint car feature race at Hagerstown Speedway, picking up his second victory of the series. Troy Wagaman. Jr. of Hanover was second and defending Speedweek champion Anthony Macri of Dillsburg was third. Danny Dietrich of Gettysburg placed fourth and Justin Whitthall of Vincentown, N.J. rounded out the top five. Whitthall recorded the fastest qualifying lap time of 15.427 secionds.

Virginia State Police tried to stop a Nissan driving west on Old Keene Mill Rd. in Springfield at 5:14 p.m. on June 30 for reckless driving. Police say the driver refused to stop, instead speeding away. The pursuit concluded near Old Keene Mill Rd and Spring Street when the Nissan struck multiple other vehicles, and the suspect driver and passenger fled on foot. The Nissan was left in drive and stopped by the same state trooper who positioned his vehicle in front of the moving Nissan.

Horse Rescued After Falling Through Pool Cover In Huntingtown
HUNTINGTOWN, Md. — Emergency personnel responded to an unusual call yesterday evening, July 3, 2024, when a horse fell through a pool cover on the 800 Block of Warner Drive. Crews arrived on the scene to find a horse named “Slick” stuck in the shallow end of an empty pool.
