BASEBALL fans can never get enough of their beloved sport.
And soon there will be even more time for MLB lovers everywhere to wallow in the game.
BatBox, a new Topgolf-style baseball simulator venue, is opening for business.
The first BatBox is opening in the United States in Addison, Texas , and it’s planned that it will be the first of many.
A number of features will hopefully attract all discerning baseball fans.
There will be HD screens in every cage, where fans can have a go at swinging the bat and aiming for some home runs.
Using Strikezon, a baseball simulator technology, it promises a “realistic and engaging” experience.
There will be Full Game or Home Run Derby modes.
Naturally, there will be a number of sports bars in operation.
Stadium-like concession stands will also try and emulate as much as possible how it feels to be at a game.
And of course, the action from various MLB games will be shown everywhere during the season.
There are already 13 BatBox venues across Mexico. The aim is for there to be 25 in the US by 2030.
Judging by some of the reaction on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, the new venue should do some decent trade.
“Take my money now,” one fan said.
“I’ve been waiting for a place like this for so long,” another fan said.
“That looks fun, will definitely plan for a visit,” a third fan wrote.
“Dangerous! I’ll probably spend all day in there,” a fourth fan posted.
“I hope it’s realistic, because I’d like to have a go,” a fifth fan said.
The truth is baseball is pretty late to the party on this one.
Entertainment venues featuring golf simulators have been all the rage for a number of years.
There are also venues out there for a number of other sports, including soccer and darts.
The town of Addison is around 25 kilometers from Dallas.
