A man snatched jewelry from the neck of a fast food employee as she worked behind the counter of an Adelanto restaurant on Wednesday, authorities said.

The robbery unfolded about 11:10 a.m. at Bravo Burgers, at Sportsman Center and Stadium Way, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials said.

The wanted man pretended to place an order with the employee, then reached over the counter and "ripped the necklaces off her neck," according to a statement issued by the agency.

He got into a black, four-door Infiniti sedan, which was last seen headed east on Rancho Road, officials said.

Deputies described the robber as a Latino man in his 20s, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and of thin build. He wore a white hooded sweatshirt and gray shorts.
