LOS ANGELES – A 48-year-old woman was killed Monday morning when she was struck by a vehicle whose driver left the scene in the Florence area of Los Angeles. The crash occurred at 1:11 a.m. at 219 W. Gage Ave., according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
Woman’s body pulled from Dominguez Channel in Carson
CARSON – An investigation was underway Sunday into the death of a woman found floating in the Dominguez Channel in Carson. The discovery was made about 6:53 p.m. Sunday in the Dominguez Channel in the 500 block of East Carson Plaza Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Class of 2024: Six Fellows Selected For Commercial Directors Diversity Program
LOS ANGELES -- Tamika Lamison, executive director of the Commercial Directors Diversity Program (CDDP), has announced six Directing Fellows who have been awarded ARRI Rental camera grant packages, Jordan Brady’s Online Commercial Directing Master Class, and other resources to support their journey as commercial directors during the program’s 2024 cycle. The Fellows are: Anjali Nayar, April Moreau, Derek Smith, Jonathan Benavente, and the directing duo known as SCOUT, consisting of Lindsay Sunada and Jensen Vinca. The directors were welcomed at a recent orientation held at SMUGGLER with representatives from the DGA & AICP.

Alison Chao's father to appear in court
LOS ANGELES - The father of Alison Chao, the Monterey Park teen who went missing and was found in Glendale a week later, appeared in court Monday. Jeffrey Chao faces several charges, including conspiracy and falsifying a police report in connection with the July 16 disappearance of his 15-year-old daughter. According to Chao's Chou's criminal attorney, Jose Romero, the matter is being filed as a felony.
