First Alert Weather: Stormy weather at times through the weekend
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Don’t leave the house without the umbrella! Scattered storms will continue off and on throughout the remainder of the workweek and the weekend. We’ve had another widespread coverage of scattered storms and this has helped keep our high temperatures in the 80s for most areas. We’ve still seen a few 90s on the map in places like Cullman. If you want to go for a walk this evening, plan for another humid evening, but do stay alert for the possibility of additional pop-up showers and storms.

Alabama school districts with high teacher retirements: See where
The number of educators retiring in Alabama is climbing again, with nine school districts seeing the highest number of retirements in the past decade. Just under 3,100 employees retired from July of 2023 through June of 2024, according to the Teachers Retirement Systems of Alabama. Numbers include teachers and other staff who have vested in the system after at least 10 years of employment.
