Water main break reported in east Emporia
Emporia’s Underground Utilities Department is busy with unplanned repairs Friday morning. Crews have been dispatched to a water main break on East Ninth between East and Topeka. Customers will be without water service for much of the morning. Other details are pending.

Gardner woman seriously injured after motorcycle collision on I-70
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A Gardner woman is fighting for her life after she was taken to a Topeka area hospital following a motorcycle collision on I-70 west of Lawrence. The Kansas Highway Patrol indicates that around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, emergency crews were called to eastbound I-70 near the Topeka Service Area in Douglas County with reports of a single-vehicle collision.
