New venture in Topeka aims to help young people gain confidence in social skills
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A new venture in Topeka aims to help young people learn how to be good company. Capitol Cotillion will be held at The Beacon September through April, offering monthly lessons for middle school boys and girls in manners, interpersonal skills, ballroom dance and more. After being named one of four finalists for a city manager job in Manhattan, Kansas, Springfield City Manager Jason Gage has withdrawn his candidacy. A day after competing in the 2024 Olympic mixed team air rifle event, Manhattan's Ivan Roe appeared in the 10-meter men's air rifle qualifying in Chateauroux, France. Southbound Turnpike traffic blocked at Admire interchange after wreck near Emporia service exit
Law enforcement authorities are investigating after a reported injury crash northeast of Emporia on Saturday afternoon. The wreck was reported around 3:15 pm at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 134 southbound, or seven miles northeast of the Emporia tollgate and two miles northeast of the Emporia service exit. Kansas Highway Patrol troopers, Emporia/Lyon County EMS and a medical helicopter responded.

TOPEKA, Kan. — U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Kansas Rural Development Director Christy Davis announced Friday that USDA will help farmers and small businesses expand access to clean energy and lower energy bills through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Today, Rural Development is investing $1,789,170 in grants that will support 15 clean energy projects across Kansas.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation has located a suspect in connection to the Topeka U.S. Bank robbery in Texas. According to the Topeka Police Department officials, as a result of the investigation, on Friday, July 26, officials with the FBI took a suspect into custody without incident in Texas. The incident is being investigated by the FBI and no additional information is available at this time.
