    Cocaine sharks found in Brazil

We first experienced 'Cocaine Bear' in a movie from last year that was based on a true story from the 1980's. 'Cocaine Shark' was also a movie that was made last year in an attempt to capitalize on Shark Week. Now, we have encountered real-life cocaine sharks off of the coast of Brazil.

Scientists at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation caught thirteen different sharks off of the coast of Brazil near Rio de Janeiro. After testing all of the sharks, the scientists found out that the 13 sharks all tested positive for high levels of cocaine. Unfortunately, these findings were released after Shark Week ended earlier this month.

The scientists claim that the cocaine consumed by sharks was from human wastewater that was sent out into the Atlantic Ocean.

"Probably the main source would be human use of cocaine and metabolization and urine and feces discharge..."

This idea is possible due to the half-life of cocaine being about one hour long, which means that it metabolizes and flushes out of the body rather quickly.

    Sing along with me.
