Mayor Tiffany Henyard has taken all of the money from Dolton

Back in April of this year, the Village of Dolton hired former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot to investigate the spending of Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard during her two-year reign. The reason for the investigation was due to the Village of Dolton now being millions of dollars in debt along without having an audit done on Dolton's finances since 2021.

The results of this investigative report were released yesterday evening at a town hall meeting. The results show that the finances for the Village of Dolton are ruined beyond repair.

When Henyard became mayor in 2022, the Village of Dolton general fund was at a surplus of 5.6 million dollars. As of now, the Village of Dolton is now facing a debt of $3.65 million. During her two years, Henyard has misused $9.25 million.

The report shows how she ransacked the entire Village of Dolton by using the money as her personal bank account. During her mayoral term, she took the money that was supposed to have been paid to contracted vendors and pocketed the money.

She also used the village's credit card as her personal bank account. Charges that were shown on the village's credit card are personal purchases. Some of the highest transactions were three separate purchases from Amazon on 1/5/23 that was a total sum of over $43,000 and a purchase from Wayfair on 9/1/23 for $7,699.99.
