Last week, so many people showed up for the Union Pacific Job Fair that the railroad company has decided to have another onsite recruitment event on Wednesday, October 23 from 10 AM to 12 PM CT at the IDES American Job Center in Harvey.

Union Pacific Railroad operates in 23 different states in the USA. With the economy back to pre-pandemic levels, transport by train is booming once again. Due to the increased transport, Union Pacific needs to hire more people.

As with last week's career fair, Union Pacific Railroad is looking for mechanics. This event is free of charge to attend, but you will need to pre-register at this link provided by Union Pacific. Here are all of the qualifications that you will need in order to apply as a mechanic.

    - 18 years or older

    - Valid Driver's License

    - 4 years of education or work experience as a mechanic or a current journeyman's mechanical card

    - Ability to read and comprehend operation and safety rules, bulletins and federal regulatory documents

Even if you are not a mechanic, then you should still register for this job fair because Union Pacific currently has over 50 jobs available throughout the entire country. You would then have a chance to speak with the Union Pacific Railroad representative about these opportunities.

The American Job Center is located at 16845 S. Halsted Street (Illinois Route 1) a block south of 167th Street.
