Body JOPLIN, Mo. – Fall isn’t far away and for some families, that means it’s time to get out the camping gear and plan a weekend get-away. People wanting to learn more about where to camp should sign up for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) virtual program “Where Can I? Camp.” This free virtual program will be Sept. 11 from noon-12:30 p.m. The program is being put on by the staff of MDC’s Shoal Creek Conservation Education Center in Joplin. Missouri governor fills judicial vacancies in 21st and 22nd circuits
Governor Mike Parson has announced the appointment of two new judges to serve in the 21st and 22nd Judicial Circuits. The Honorable Lorne J. Baker, from University City, has been appointed as a Circuit Judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit. Judge Baker is currently serving as an associate circuit judge within the same circuit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Columbia. This appointment fills the vacancy left by the retirement of the Honorable Joseph L. Walsh III.
Missouri prisoners wait 1 year on average for court-ordered mental health treatment
The number of people languishing in Missouri jails in need of court-ordered mental health treatment currently stands at 344 — and the wait time for a hospital bed averages one year.
