East TN Pastor Warns of Environmental Harms of Project 2025

Says Christians have moral obligation to be good stewards of the Earth

An East Tennessee pastor is speaking out on what he says is a dangerous agenda that could turn into public policy if former President Donald Trump wins this year's election.

Rev. Brandon Berg, a United Methodist minister and member of the Southern Christian Coalition, released a video statement detailing what he says are clear dangers posed by Project 2025, a document produced by the Heritage Foundation as a blueprint for a conservative presidency.

"As a pastor, I believe that no matter what we look like, what beautiful and unique part of Tennessee we live in, or what’s in our wallets, all of God's children deserve clean air to breathe and clean water to drink; and it's our job to ensure we have those resources for generations to come. This is why I'm so opposed to Project 2025 and the de-regulatory agenda it holds. When our politicians prioritize corporate money over clean air and water for our children we end up polluting the air in our kids’ lungs and the water in their cups. And the fact of the matter is that corporations aren't going to stop or even lessen their pollution out of the goodness of their hearts. That's why we need legislative regulations to ensure that our childrens' asthma doesn't get worse due to air pollution, or that the water we drink leads to tragic health diagnoses like cancer, not to mention the danger that pollution poses to the entire ecosystem when bodies of water and air get contaminated"

2025 is a made up dream belonging to an individual not the GOP or Trump.
