Taylor Swift: Singer Donates $5 Million to Hurricane Helene & Milton Relief Efforts

As part of her social responsibility, award-winning singer Taylor Swift has made a generous donation to help provide food, clean water, and recovery resources for all people affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton.

The pop diva gave $5 million to relief efforts for Florida, Georgia, North Carolina , and South Carolina in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, according to a statement released by Feeding America on October 9, 2024.

“This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need,” a statement from CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said.

Less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida on September 26, the 14-time Grammy winner made this gesture. At that time, the storm surge reached a record 15 feet high and the region saw an incredible 40 trillion gallons of rain. Now that Hurricane Milton is speeding toward the Gulf, millions of Floridians are leaving the state.

With this commitment, Swift becomes the latest celebrity to donate to philanthropic organizations from her enormous net worth, which is now believed to be $1.6 billion, making her the richest female artist.

Throughout her worldwide Eras Tour, she has contributed to several food banks, and in December, following the devastation caused by tornadoes in the state, she gave $1 million to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
