Pocahontas Man Dies in Car vs Motorcycle Accident
A Pocahontas man died this weekend when a car collided with a motorcycle in Kossuth County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 1pm today (Sun) just east of Algona. A 17-year-old from Ackley was driving a compact car southbound on 160th Avenue. The teenager failed to yield to a stop sign and was struck by a motorcycle headed westbound on Highway 18. The motorcycle was driven by 42-year-old Adam Allen of Pocahontas.

Two people seriously injured in car-train crash in central Iowa, Iowa State Patrol says
Two people have been seriously hurt after their car crashed into a moving train in Woolstock, Iowa, around 6:40 p.m. Saturday, the Iowa State Patrol says. According to the crash report, Hailey Hanus, 26, was driving east on 330th St. with Duwarn Glover, 26, as a passenger. Both were wearing seatbelts when the car struck a moving train near Eagle Creek. The report said both were seriously injured and were flown by Mercy Air to MercyOne hospital in Des Moines for treatment. Their current condition, the cause of the crash and further details haven't been released. Utah man booked on Union County warrants
(Creston) -- A Utah man was arrested on a pair of warrants in Union County Sunday. The Creston Police Department says 35-year-old Kyler Ray Wiece of Salt Lake City was arrested around 6:45 p.m. on two Union County warrants, including one for failure to appear on the original charge of public intoxication and a second for possession of a controlled substance, marijuana 1st offense. Authorities say the arrest occurred at the Creston-Union County Law Enforcement Center.
